Norman Weston, born in 1960, began his musical studies at the age of seven. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Indiana University and his doctorate from Northwestern University, and has studied with Frederick Fox, M. William Karlins and John Eaton, among others. Weston has received a number of commissions and awards, and his music has been performed widely. As a pianist, he has premiered dozens of works, many of which have been written specifically for him. A respected and popular teacher, Weston has been on the faculty of Saddleback College in his native state of California since 1989, where he teaches theory and composition.
